Pull-out Safety Poster ARC FLASH An arc flash is a type of electrical explosion that can result in serious injury and even death. It is a phenomenon where a flashover of electric current leaves its intended path and travels through the air from one conductor to another or to ground. CAUSES: • Dust • Dropping tools • Accidental touching • Condensation • Material failure • Corrosion • Faulty installation RESULTS: • Burns • Fire • Flying objects (often molten metal) • Blast pressure (upwards of 2,000 lb./sq.ft.)
