Aubrey Kauff man is the Chair of Fasken Martineau's Toronto Insolvency and Restruc-
turing Group, a Director of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and a past Chair of the
Ontario Bar Association – Insolvency Section. His practice focuses on advocacy matters
related to domestic and cross-border bankruptcy, insolvency and restructuring proceed-
ings. He has acted in many high-profi le insolvency proceedings representing a wide array
of stakeholders, including court offi cers, debtors and creditors at all levels of the capital
structure and government agencies. Kauff man is certifi ed as a Specialist in both bank-
ruptcy and insolvency and civil litigation by e Law Society of Upper Canada. He is a
Director of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and a member of the International Associa-
tion of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals, the American Bankruptcy
Institute and Turnaround Management Association (Toronto Chapter). He is frequently
recognized for his insolvency and restructuring law expertise in leading legal publications.
Kauff man was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979.

domestic and cross-border insolvencies in a wide range of industries. Appeared in courts
across the country and in the Supreme Court of Canada. Particular expertise with aircra
fi nancings/airline insolvencies. Special lecturer for advanced business law program at
Windsor Law School. Past Chair of Ontario Bar Association Insolvency Section. Member
of Board of Directors of Turnaround Management Association (Toronto). Member of
Insolvency Institute of Canada, American Bankruptcy Institute, and INSOL. Recipient of
Women in Restructuring Mentorship Award (2011) and Women Trailblazers Award

Andy Kent's business law practice is focused on restructuring and debt fi nance. For
many years he has been rated in leading directories as a preeminent restructuring practi-
tioner, as a leading banking lawyer and as one of Canada's foremost business lawyers. Kent
has been commended for his strategic abilities, technical excellence, trouble-shooting and
problem-solving skills, and for the energetic pursuit of clients' interests. Representative
transactions include major reorganizations and fi nancings in all major industry sectors,
including many cross-border transactions. Kent has been a key innovator and has led

Institute of Canada. In 2011, Kent was identifi ed as one of the 25 most infl uential lawyers
in Canada.
Kevin McElcheran (MCIArb) uses more than 30 years of experience as one of Canada's
leading commercial restructuring lawyers and his training as a mediator of commercial
disputes to assist business people in building successful restructuring solutions on the
foundation of viable business plans. He has opened his own offi ce to take appointments
(either by court order or by agreement) as a neutral to facilitate negotiation of critical issues
as they arise and to expedite the restructuring process. Authored Commercial Insolvency in
Canada (LexisNexis Canada, 2005; second edition published in 2011) and has published
many papers related to insolvency law. Certifi ed Specialist by e Law Society of Upper
Canada in Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law, continuously, since 1997. Member of e
Advocates' Society, Canadian Insolvency Foundation, Insolvency Institute of Canada,
American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association and INSOL Inter-
national. Admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1982.
