The Halo Light is the ideal safety and task light, offering four light modes (halo, hi-alert, task and dim) and up to 276 lumens of power in 360 degrees. It is visible over one-quarter mile away while illuminating the wearer's task area out to his or her visual periph- ery. Most safety solutions available today are passive, like the retro-refl ec- tive vest, which requires a secondary source of light to be effective. The Halo Light is active, illuminating the wearer without the need for a secondary source of light and further signalling the presence of a worker via a rotating hi-alert mode, says the manufacturer. This lightweight tool is built to survive in rough environments and has an International Protection Rating of 67 to protect against dust, dirt and water. Its rechargeable battery pack provides over 12 hours of full power. www.illumagear.com SAFETY PADLOCKS Master Lock Safety Solutions has introduced the S-series pad- lock line, a new line of aluminum safety padlocks designed for safety lockout/tagout purposes. The S-series padlocks, which include the Master Lock S6835 series and Ameri- can Lock S1100 series, feature the W401/W417 safety exclusive restricted keyway, which guarantees duplicate keys cannot be created in the fi eld, says Master Lock Safety. The cylinder is also key-retaining, ensuring the padlock is not accidently unlocked by an employee. Master Lock Safety is also offering a complimentary Life- Guard key record-keeping system, which ensures a key is not duplicated within a facility. The durable, alumi- num-bodied locks provide superior corrosion resistance to withstand harsh environments and are available in three shackle height sizes: 1 inch, 1.5 inches and 3 inches. Master Lock's S6835 series features a vibrant pow- der-coated fi nish in six colour options, and the American Lock S1100 series features an anodized aluminum fi nish in nine different colour options. www.masterlocksafety.com FALL PROTECTION ESCAPE SOLUTION Capital Safety has introduced the Rollgliss R550, an escape solution ideal for wind turbines, cellphone towers, aerial lifts and cranes. Offering fully automatic, hands-free descent, it is a safe, easy-to-use rescue and descent system that requires minimal user training. Made with light- weight yet durable cast aluminum housing, the Rollgliss R550 is the lightest, most compact unit on the market in its class, says Capital Safety. The system features integrated rope ears for greater descent speed control in assisted res- cues and a dual braking system for added security and safety during automatic descent. The bi-directional hub design allows the rope to descend from either side, bring- ing one hook up as the other goes down, so it can be used immediately for multiple descents. Rated for two-person loads — a total of 620 pounds — the system performs in a variety of situations, including in an emergency descent or a full rescue. www.capitalsafety.com RESCUE ANCHORS DEUS Rescue has expanded its product line to include removable anchors, beam anchors and swivel anchors, in addition to the DEUS rope-over-wire anchor connec- tors. This more extensive offering of anchor solutions is designed to complement DEUS descent devices and kits, or any descent and rescue equipment, in a range of applications. The new DEUS removable anchors insert in seconds and may be removed and reused at any desired location. The beam anchors for I-beam use are lightweight, yet strong, offering complete free- dom of movement and superior performance on overhead I-beams, says DEUS. And the swivel anchors for versatile anchor points feature full 360-degree swivel and 180-degree back-and-forth movement. www.DEUSRescue.com TOWER HARNESS Miller has released it's new harness for tower climbing, providing the ultimate in fall protection performance, comfort and durability for workers on cellphone, TV, radio and utility towers, says the manufacturer. The Miller AirCore Tower Climbing Harness is up to 21 per cent lighter than simi- lar competitive harnesses for all day endurance, reduced fatigue and increased productivity, says Miller. Its strategically designed and placed pad- ding takes up less surface area to improve air fl ow; minimize contact with the neck, lower back and inner thighs; and reduce chaffi ng and irritation. It includes a removable and adjustable Bos'n chair, a removable belt with tool loops and stretchable webbing that conforms to the shape of the worker with less bunching, binding or kinking. The harness meets applicable OSHA 1926.502, ANSI A10.32, ANSI Z359.1 and CSA Z259.10-12 requirements. www.millerfallprotection.com
