WITHIN THE CANADIAN Infrastructure economy, P3s are fl ourishing. According to the Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP), "Canada now has 20 years of experience with P3s and 207 projects are currently in procurement, under con- struction or in operation across the country." In a national Nanos Research survey com- missioned by the CCPPP, "62% of respondents [indicated they] are open to using P3s. "A majority of Canadians also indicated that they support the use of P3s across key sectors of the economy, with transit systems (70%), roads (65%), social housing (64%) and hospitals (63%) receiving the strongest endorsements." is is having enormous impact on the Canadian econo- my. In March of this year, the CCPPP released the results of its "10-Year Economic Impact Assessment of Public-Private Partnerships in Canada (2003–2012)." e study concludes that Public-Private partnerships (P3s) are major contributors to Canada's economy, generating $51.2 billion in direct economic output and 290,680 direct full-time equivalent jobs between 2003 and 2012. As the Canadian economy improves, even since 2012, the ten years ahead are likely to see even more intensifi ed Infrastructure, including P3, success.
