Practice is focused on corporate taxation, with an emphasis on international
taxation (tax treaties and transfer pricing). Regular contributor to Tax Management
International Journal. Previously worked for the Department of Finance in tax policy,
particularly dealing with tax treaty and foreign affi liate matters, and in international
tax for Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte) in Ottawa and Toronto. Member
of the Canadian Bar Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation, the American
Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the International Fiscal

Jeff rey Trossman is a partner who practices in the areas of income tax planning,
including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, inbound and outbound investments,
multijurisdictional reorganizations, and the taxation of REITs and investment funds
at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Represents taxpayers at all levels in the tax appeal
process. Writes and speaks frequently in numerous venues, including the Canadian
Tax Foundation, the International Fiscal Association, the Ontario Bar Association and
the International Tax Review. Member of the faculty for the 2007–2014 Institutes on
Tax Aspects of Mergers & Acquisitions, organized by the Penn State Dickinson School
of Law and the New York City Bar Association. Member of the Joint Committee on
Taxation of the Canadian Bar Association and Chartered Professional Accountants of
Canada. Member of Executive Committee of National Taxation Section of Canadian
