Alan Bell is a senior partner in the fi rm's corporate department. He practices primarily
in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and advising board of
directors on corporate governance matters, and represents public and private companies,
board of directors and independent committees of directors of public companies. Bell
has routinely acted in respect of signifi cant domestic and multinational mergers and
acquisitions, reorganizations, joint ventures and advises corporations on the structuring

Acquisitions Group. Practice focuses on corporate and securities law matters, with an
emphasis on mergers & acquisitions and corporate fi nance transactions. Practice has
included a broad range of transactions and advice encompassing private and public
acquisitions, hostile and supported take-over bids, going-private transactions, private
and public market fi nancings, corporate governance issues and advising domestic and
cross-border issuers with respect to their general public company obligations. Recently
returned to the Toronto offi ce a er practicing in the fi rm's New York offi ce from 2008 to
2011. Currently a member of the Securities Advisory Committee (SAC) of the Ontario
