Chris Sanderson's practice focuses on government relations and regulation in the
energy and resource sectors throughout Western and Northern Canada. He advises
utilities, marketers, mine and energy project developers and governments with respect
to project authorizations and regulatory matters in the natural gas, oil, electricity and
mining sectors. Sanderson appears frequently before federal and provincial permitting,
energy and environmental boards in BC, Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

businesses. Experience includes structuring businesses and advising management
in strategic decision making for Canadian and foreign corporations. Obtained a
Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Royal Military College of Canada, an
LLB from Dalhousie University and has completed the Institute of Corporate
Directors, Directors Education Program. Serves on the boards of public companies
and is a director of the Canadian Defence & Foreign Aff airs Institute. Booth is
honorary counsel for the Royal Military Colleges Club of Canada Foundation Inc.,
the Conference of Defence Associations and CDA Institute. Recognized as one of

Doug Crowther is the leader of the Dentons Canada Energy Industry Team. His
practice focuses on energy regulatory law and includes representation of industry
interests before such bodies as the National Energy Board, the Alberta Utilities
Commission, and the Alberta Energy Regulator. He appears as counsel in respect of:
pipeline and electricity facility approvals; industry disputes; toll/rate and tariff matters;
and electric and gas utility regulation. He has been actively involved in numerous
signifi cant proceedings including those relating to: restructuring of the Alberta
electricity industry; the setting of electricity and pipeline tolls/rates and tariff s; and
pipeline project approval. He also advises developers of co-generation, renewable and
other electric power projects. Crowther is a graduate of the University of Calgary (BA,
1978) and the University of British Columbia (LLB, 1984). He is a member of LSA,
CBA, CalBA and Energy Bar Association.
