Canada – a global leader with close to $120 billion in annual energy exports – is well-positioned to serve growing Asian markets. So financing new energy projects should be a no-brainer, right? As anyone who has worked on a recent energy financing knows, it's currently a tale of two markets. Green energy companies, flavour of the month with large institutional investors and international banks, are having no problem raising capital. Traditional oil and natural gas companies on the other hand, out of favour for several quarters, have had to scramble to raise funds because new share offerings have been almost impossible to complete.
