TRANSCANADA ENERGY ENTERS ARRANGEMENTS FOR REPLACEMENT GAS-FIRED ELECTRICAL GENERATING STATION CLOSING DATE: DECEMBER 14, 2012 TransCanada Energy Ltd. signed a Clean Energy Supply Contract on December 14, 2012, with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) whereby TransCanada will develop, own and operate a new 900-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant. Concurrently with the execution of the CES Contract, TransCanada also entered into agreements with Ontario Power Generation Inc. (OPG) to purchase a portion of the site on which OPG's Lennox Generating Station is situated and to enter into certain shared site arrangements with OPG. The new Napanee Generating Station is expected to be completed in 2018 and will act as a replacement facility for the TransCanada power project in Oakville, halted in 2010. TransCanada's legal team was led by John Cashin, Associate General Counsel, with McCarthy Tétrault LLP on commercial matters, and Doug McLean, Associate General Counsel and Director, Litigation, with Jody Johnson, Senior Legal Counsel, with Thornton Grout Finnigan LLP on arbitration matters. PROJECT FINANCING CLOSES FOR FOUR PAN AMERICAN GAMES FACILITIES CLOSING DATE: OCTOBER 10, 2012 Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation signed a contract with Ontario Sports Solutions, a consortium led by Bouygues Building Canada Inc., Kenaidan Contracting Ltd. and Fengate Capital Management Ltd., to design, build and finance the Pan Am Games Hamilton Soccer Stadium, York University Athletics Stadium, Milton Velodrome and Toronto Tracks. The value of the contract is approximately $206.1 million. The stakeholders of the project and the facilities include the Government of Canada, Province of Ontario, Toronto 2015 (organizing committee) and the facilities' owners, the City of Hamilton, Lexpert®Ranked Lawyers Voore, Mihkel E.
