IN MEMORIAM Hamilton, Sheldon Smart & Biggar We are saddened to announce the passing of Sheldon Hamilton in August 2025, and we wish to honour his remarkable career and contributions to the IP community. Sheldon was a principal in Smart & Biggar's Toronto office. For close to 30 years, he was recognized as one of Canada's leading patent litigation lawyers. He acted as counsel for many of the world's most innovative companies, protecting their commercially valuable IP assets. He was praised by clients for his expertise in pharmaceutical litigation, appearing as both trial and appellate counsel. Sheldon was a brilliant advocate, known as a true gentleman in the profession.
