6 lacible | Août 2021 C H A I R ' S M E S S A G E The pandemic has brought on numerous changes for the IQPF. Like many other organizations, in the last year we have managed to optimize our methods of working and communicating with our affiliates. Congratulations are in order for everything that has been accomplished during the public health crisis. In terms of governance, this historic period has guided us in the direction of greater agility. This means that today, despite the uncertainty and ambiguity, our opening to the world is both fundamental and strategic. But of course, any change brings its share of risks and opportunities to manage. In the pursuit of our objectives of maintaining our leadership in the industry, promoting the profession and recruiting the next genera- tion of financial planners, the time is right to cooperate with others concerned about the future of our profession. This is why our part- nership with FP Canada is so important! FP Canada is a frontrunner in the advancement of professional financial planning and a highly active player in the Canadian ecosystem, responsible for issuing the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) title in the rest of Canada. Working Within Our Ecosystem The IQPF is naturally interested in what is happening elsewhere. By the same token, what is happening here in Québec deserves to be widely communicated to inspire others. With FP Canada, the IQPF is creating a favourable context for learning about other issues related to our profession and gaining a better understanding of the risks that continue to emerge within our industry. This partnership also allows us to make representations at formerly unattainable levels. Pooling our highly complementary strengths, sharing our areas of expertise, and learning together are the three prongs of our cooperative plan. Staying on Alert Staying on alert means being proactive and tuning our antennas to national and international levels. Having a sound understanding of the practice and regulations outside Québec is an asset for us. Our ecosystem teaches us about the realities of some of our stakeholders and partners in the Canadian banking system, for example. Furthermore, our ecosystem is likely to grow. Let's be prepared and available. CHOOSING OPENNESS AND AGILITY
