ECI SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS ACQUIRES SHOPTECH INDUSTRIAL SOFTWARE CORP. CLOSING DATE: NOV. 10, 2020 On Nov. 10, 2020 ECI Soware Solutions, a leader in cloud-based business manage- ment solutions, completed its acquisition of Glastonbury, CT-based Shoptech Industrial Soware Corp. e terms of the deal were not disclosed. ECI is a privately held company head- quartered in Fort Worth, Texas that provides industry-specific business so- ware solutions and services, focusing on cloud-based technologies. Its solutions are used by 22,000 customers mainly in North America but with a strong pres- ence in Europe and Australia. Shoptech is a provider of ER P soware for job shops and made-to-order manufacturers. Shoptech's products help manufacturers better manage the complexities of their manufacturing operations, including quoting, scheduling, purchasing, shipping and accounting. Shoptech will join ECI's Manufacturing Division, which serves small- and medium- sized discrete manufacturers and job shops worldwide. ANNOUNCES IT WILL ACQUIRE LIONBRIDGE AI ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: NOV. 6, 2020 On Nov. 6, TELUS Corp. announced it will acquire Lionbridge AI for $1.2 billion. Under the acquisition, Lionbridge AI will become part of TELUS International as TELUS Corp. intends to make its international division a public company. e transaction enables TELUS International to expand its service offering to include data labelling and annotation as well as bring in new clients. TELUS Corp. is a Canadian telecom- munications company focusing on providing telecommunications products and services including access to internet, voice, entertain- ment, healthcare and video. Lionbridge AI is a translation and local- ization company focused on improving the ability of artificial intelligence systems to recognize images, video, audio and text. DELTA ELECTRONICS ACQUIRES TRIHEDRAL ENGINEERING CLOSING DATE: NOV. 4, 2020 On Nov. 4, Delta Electronics completed its acquisition of Trihedral Engineering, head- quartered in Nova Scotia. Under the trans- action, Delta Electronics (Netherlands) BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta, acquired 100 per cent of the shares of Trihedral valued at approximately $45 million. e acquisi- tion represents a key part of Delta's long-term strategy in its industrial automation and system integration portfolios as it will aid in digital manufacturing.
