practice for growth's sake but to grow stra-
tegically; to place additional bricks in the
wall that further expand KSV 's practice
and areas of expertise. Soriano takes on the
task of working with existing team mem-
bers to grow the firm's business valuation
practice with a fellow
new hire, Neil de Gray,
who brings more than
10 years of experience in
business valuation, dam-
ages quantification and
complex litigation sup-
port services.
"My goal, working
with the folks that are al-
ready here, is to grow the
firm's presence so we be-
come the first name that
comes to mind when someone has import-
ant litigation," says Soriano. "I was thrilled
that Neil decided to move to KSV. Neil is
recognized as an up-and-coming leader in
the practice — he is an outstanding prac-
titioner."
de Gray provides independent and ob-
jective valuation and related financial ex-
pert opinions in both litigious and non-li-
tigious matters, and he is oen retained in
the context of shareholder disputes, breach
of contract, intellectual property disputes,
tax litigation and other commercial litiga-
tion matters. He has testified as an expert
in business valuation and corporate finance
matters in Canadian courts and is active-
ly involved with the Canadian Institute of
Chartered Business Valuators, serving on
several committees. He is also a contribut-
ing author to several leading valuation texts
and a regular speaker on business valuation
and dispute related topics.
Soriano says another thing that attracted
him to KSV is the fact that the restructuring
practice has deep relationships with insol-
vency lawyers, whereas Soriano's relation-
ships are on the litigation side.
"I am excited about the opportunity to
deepen our relationships with these law firms
through cross referrals between KSV and
these firms."
"MY GOAL, WORKING WITH THE FOLKS
THAT ARE ALREADY HERE, IS TO GROW
THE FIRM'S PRESENCE SO WE BECOME
THE FIRST NAME THAT COMES TO MIND
WHEN SOMEONE HAS IMPORTANT
LITIGATION."
