Evan Cobb's practice at Norton Rose
Fulbright covers all aspects of Corporate
and Commercial Law, with a particular
focus on Bankruptcy, Insolvency and Re-
structuring. He regularly acts for debtors,
creditors and court-appointed officers in
both domestic and cross-border restruc-
turing and insolvency matters. Cobb has
played a key role in a very substantial por-
tion of the firm's largest restructuring mat-
ters, including acting for the Victorian Or-
der of Nurses for Canada as lead counsel in
its operational and financial restructuring
in 2016 and MBAC Fertilizer Corp.'s suc-
cessful restructuring of more than $300
million of outstanding debt to emerge
from protection under the CCAA as a re-
structured publicly traded company. is
was a multi-jurisdictional matter involving
both Canadian and Brazilian proceedings.
Cobb acted pro bono in the successful re-
structuring of a technology company in
2017, including both out-of-court trans-
actional matters and at contested hearings.

Julie D'Avignon is a member of Stike-

advice on tax matters relating to M&A
Transactions, Corporate Reorganiza-
tions, Equity Investments, Flow-through
shares and Financings, frequently advising
on structures, transactions and reorgan-
izations. Her diverse client base includes
companies operating in industries ranging
from Canadian and international oil and
gas, mining, renewable energy, technology,
financial products and service businesses.
For several years she was a Board Mem-
ber and Legal Director of the B.J. Hughes
Foundation for the Development of Entre-
preneurial Women and held the role of
President and other executive roles for sec-
tions of the Canadian Bar Association (Al-
berta). She has provided pro bono support
to several non-profit entities seeking char-
itable registration and with respect to vari-
ous projects, including an investment in a
social development initiative operating in
East Africa. She co-led Stikeman Elliott's
involvement in Mount Royal University's
JMH Venture LaunchPad program.

has been involved in many motions on a
complex case that set new law in the area

dent litigation: Economical Insurance Co. v.
Caughy. He has volunteered with the Chil-
dren's Hospital in London and the London
Spinal Cord Injury Chapter. He sits on the
Children's Hospital Committee and cre-
ated his own fundraising event, Christmas
Hockey for Kids, raising tens of thousands
of dollars annually for the hospital. He was
an OBA insurance law Executive Board
Member in 2017 and sits on the Brain
Injury Association of London Commun-
ity Awareness Committee. He is a found-
ing member of Golden In Future, helping
foster and promote sustainable changes in
