Silvana Conte is a partner in the fi rm's litigation department. Conte was admitted to the
Québec Bar in 1990 and acts as counsel on a wide variety of corporate and commercial
litigation matters, including competition/antitrust, product liability, consumer protection
and banking. She has been consistently recognized by Lexpert®, Chambers Global, Bench-
mark Canada and e Best Lawyers in Canada for her work in class actions, an area where
she has devoted much of her practice. Conte has appeared before all levels of court in the
province of Québec, including the Federal Court of Canada.
Robert Charbonneau is focused primarily on class actions, insurance law, professional
liability of insurance brokers, product liability, and civil liability in aviation matters, an
important part of which has cross-border implications. He has handled class actions for
over 23 years, representing clients such as blood banks, retail chains, motor vehicle, phar-
maceutical, electronic and computer manufacturers, insurers, chartered banks and other
fi nancial institutions. ese cases involved matters ranging from contaminated blood to
advertising, disclosure of credit rates and fees, latent defects, defamation, price-fi xing, ma-
licious prosecution, insurance coverage and breach of privacy. Selected by peers for inclu-
sion in e Best Lawyers in Canada and selected as Montréal Product Liability Lawyer of
the year 2010 and 2014. Also recognized by Chambers Global: e World's Leading Law-

Suzanne Côté is a partner and the head of the Montréal Litigation Group. She prac-
tices commercial litigation (breach of commercial contracts, representation of banks,
bankruptcy and insolvency, shareholder disputes, Competition Act, various real estate
matters, including commercial leasing, manufacturers' liability, class actions), as well as
litigation in civil and administrative matters, such as judicial review before the federal
courts and the investigation conducted by the Québec Court of Appeal regarding the
removal from offi ce of a judge of an inferior tribunal (Côté was then assisting the Court
of Appeal). She pleads before all jurisdictions: Superior Court of Québec, Québec Court
of Appeal and the federal courts. Named a BTI Client Service All-Star. Included in e
2014 Lexpert®/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada and e
Best Lawyers in Canada 2015. Named "Trial Lawyer of the Year" by Le Monde ju-
ridique in 2008. Became Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2005. Called
to the Québec Bar (1981).
Practice focuses on commercial, administrative and constitutional litigation, and in par-
ticular on aspects pertaining to Aboriginal rights and environmental law. Involved in prod-
uct liability cases, including class actions, and in many shareholder disputes. Appears be-
fore all levels of federal and provincial courts, commissions and governmental boards, in-
cluding commissions of inquiry. Taught administrative law at the University of Ottawa,
the University of Montréal and for the Québec Bar. Has given several conferences and
written numerous articles in his fi elds. Fellow of the ACTL. Past Chair of the Montréal
Bar Committee on Civil Justice. Past Secretary of the CBA, Québec Branch and past
Chair of the CBA's Constitutional Law and Civil Liberties Section. Called to the Québec
Bar in 1978.
