Focusing on commercial and corporate litigation and es- tates, trusts and capacity litigation, Abela represents clients ranging from large corpora- tions and institutions to small business owners and professionals. Abela has appeared as counsel before all levels of court in Ontario and the Federal Court of Canada. As the for- mer National Representative (Canada) for the International Association for Young Law- yers and a member of the current OBA Executive, Estates and Trusts Section, Abela is ac- tively involved in the legal community. She has been an adjunct professor at the University of Western Law School and is a regular speaker on a variety of legal topics. Kinji Bourchier has a general commercial and business litigation practice with a diverse mixture of practice areas and a broad range of experience. Bourchier's primary practice ar- eas include complex commercial and civil litigation with a focus on contractual disputes, environmental remediation claims, shareholder and transactional disputes, and business torts. He has successfully mediated and reached negotiated settlements on behalf of clients in the areas of contract, environmental, tort and transactional-based litigation. Bourchier has extensive experience dealing with injunctive remedies in a wide range of contexts, in- cluding disputes in the forestry and mining industries, and he also has a focused practice in the fi eld of environmental remediation cost-recovery claims. He regularly represents US and international clients in the fi elds of complex business disputes, product liability, envi- ronmental and engineering-related claims. Brendan Bowles is the managing partner of Glaholt LLP in Toronto, and is certifi ed by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Construction Law. Bowles acts for a variety of clients involved in construction, including subcontractors and suppliers, general contractors, owners, design professionals, sureties and insurers. He has experience con- ducting motions and trials in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and appellate experi- ence up to and including the Ontario Court of Appeal. Bowles graduated from Queen's University with a BA in 1995 and an LLB in 1998, and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2000. In 2004 he was designated as an Associate in Canadian Surety Bonding by the Sure- ty Association of Canada. From 2006 to 2009 he was Continuing Legal Education Liai- son for the Construction Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association, and from 2009 to 2012 he was co-editor of the Section newsletter, Nuts & Bolts. He continues to serve on the Construction Law Section Executive as Vice-chair. Bowles is a guest lecturer at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. Caroline E.
