The app, available free of charge through iTunes and the app store, is available in both iOS and android formats. The app is intended to be an additional tool for those who have already decided to improve the safety culture of their organizations. The interactive e-books can be down- loaded to an iPad and viewed anywhere, even without an Internet connection. The supervisor series is made up of four e-books, each focus- ing on a different aspect of safety supervision: communication skills; new and young worker safety; safety management systems; and workplace evaluations. Each e-book contains interactive exercises that will challenge the user's decision-making skills and test his knowledge. The series is great for both experienced or brand new supervisors as it offers tips on keep- ing workers healthy and injury-free as well as effi cient and productive. www.worksafebc.com AWARENESS TRAINING YOW Canada has announced the launch of its newest online course, Ontario Workers and Supervisors Health and Safety Awareness. Effec- tive, July 1, 2014, all Ontario workers and supervisors must have health and safety awareness training to legally work in Ontario. YOW Canada's new training courses meet and exceed the Ministry of Labour's requirements. They give Ontario workers and super- visors the basic understanding and knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and their rights and duties within the act. Upon suc- cessful completion of the course, the training certifi cate is instantly emailed to the trainee and it never expires. If the worker misplaces it, he can contact YOW Canada at any time for another copy. Now it features many new safety talks relevant to IHSA's wider membership.
