Gray- Wolf manufactures various advanced, portable and semi-permanent moni- toring instruments for measurements that include indoor air quality, form- aldehyde, chlorine, ammonia, relative humidity and many other parameters. Measurement data can now be viewed on smartphones, iPads, Androids, PCs or any web-enabled device. Attached notes (such as audio, text and photos) may also be reviewed. Data may be displayed as multi-parameter graphs or in tabular format. Users can set up a smartphone, or other Internet acces- sible device, to receive alarms when toxic gas levels or other measured param eters exceed defi ned levels. The alarm message may be emailed to multiple phones/devices. The logged readings can be downloaded via WiFi to any Windows XP, 7 or 8 device that has GrayWolf's WolfSense PC data transfer and reporting software loaded. www.wolfsense.com. SPECIALIZED GAS SENSORS The Rapidox Series of gas analyzers feature an extremely wide measure- ment range for oxygen and have been redesigned to allow optional sensors for specialized gases such as sulfur hexafluoride, carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide. These continuous, fast responding, easy to use analyzers can be used for many applications and offer new fi ttings and thermocouples for temperature measurement. Each unit comes complete with software for data logging. An optional air pump can be used to provide a smooth fl ow of gas drawn from fl exible tubing. The units have programmable outputs, dis- play and can be user calibrated with any two oxygen points for accurate readings from under one ppm all the way up to 100 per cent volume to be obtained. These units were designed for a variety of applications from gas purity to vacuum leak detection. www.ceainstr.com. CALIBRATION STATION Dräger has introduced the X-dock test and calibration station for portable gas detectors. It provides automatic bump tests, calibration, reduced test gas consumption, short testing times and comprehensive documentation. X-dock offers modular confi gura- tions to test multiple monitors and is designed to signifi cantly reduce the amount of calibration gas used. The station operates via touch screen at a master station. Up to three test cycles can be confi gured freely on multiple instruments. Several options can be activated including testing of a gas detector's alarm elements. X-dock automatically recognizes all sensor combinations. It automatically tests and adjusts them if all required test gases are connected. It operates inde- pendently and can be confi gured without a PC. Once a gas detector is inserted, it is automatically detected by the unit, which records all data in the database. www.draeger.com. WIRELESS GAMMA DETECTOR RAE Systems has added the MeshGuard Gamma detector to its Mesh- Guard Wireless Gas Detection System. This new product delivers real-time continuous monitoring of gamma radiation threats in a cost-effective, rapidly deployable solution for 24-7 monitoring of large industrial facili- ties and remote sites. MeshGuard Gamma is available with fi eld-replace- able pre-calibrated sensors specifi cally designed to sense X-ray and gamma radiation. It is also directly compat- ible with RAE Systems MeshGuard wireless gas sensors for a fully inte- grated hazardous gas and radiation monitoring system. When coupled with ProRAE Guardian command centre software, it provides a pow- erful real-time radiation and gas monitoring solution, according to the manufacturer. The MeshGuard System uses a self-forming and self-healing network that allows it to balance network traffi c by automatically rout- ing data to the controller through the best wireless path available. The battery-powered units have a rugged weather-resistant housing. The Mesh- Guard System is designed for fast deployment in areas where low cost and high ROI solutions are required. www.raesystems.com. TOOLS OF THE TRADE AIR QUALITY FOOT PROTECTION STEEL TOE OVERSHOE Swenco has released the Steel-Flex Steel Toe Over- shoe. It's fully waterproof, crack resistant and made of oil, acid and chemical resis- tant thermo-plastic rubber material. The overshoe is CSA Certifi ed Z195-09: Grade 1 Toe Protection. The new tread design provides exceptional slip resistance on typical workplace walking surfaces, says the manufacturer. Steel-Flex offers an overshoe specifi cally designed from the toe out, to be used over all kinds of foot- wear and all sizes. The design is ambidextrous, making it easy to pull a pair out of a mixed box instead of searching for a right and left. Seven graduated, colour-coded sizes helps them fi t over shoes easily. They can be used in a variety of environments including factories, farming and manufacturing. www.swenco.com. ICE CLEATS STABILicers Maxx are ice cleats designed for those who work outdoors. The STABI- Licers Maxx are best in class and relied on by hundreds of thousands of postal letter car- riers, police, rescue teams and outdoor work crews. The 34 case-hardened cleats bite into ice and snow and help provide non-slip traction to keep workers mobile in icy and snowy conditions. Simply attach STABILicers to shoes or boots with hook-and-loop fasteners. The fl exible sole provides comfort and traction. Replaceable cleats assure long-term durability, performance and value. Straps fi t snugly with easy on and off design. Proprietary sole design and rubber compound enhance overall adhesive friction. Optional brass cleats are softer and non-sparking; giving fuel delivery men greater safety and peace of mind, says the manufacturer. www.32north.com.
